What are Runes and BRC-20 tokens?

Runes: Runes is the new protocol on top of Bitcoin, which enables the users to inscribe certain values to the fractions of Bitcoin (sats), and in this way, create the ERC-20-like experience for creating, trading and managing Bitcoin native assets. In simple words, Runes are “kind of” the fungible tokens on the Bitcoin Blockchain.

BRC-20 tokens: An older token experimental standard, demonstrating that you can create off-chain balance states with inscriptions on Bitcoin. Likely to be replaced by Runes.

What is Runes Dex?

Runes Dex is the first AMM on Bitcoin for Runes, Ordinals & BRC-20.

Can I add my own tokens to Runes Dex exchange?

Users can create liquidity pools by depositing their asset and an equal value amount of Bitcoin. Once the deposit transaction is confirmed the liquidty becomes available on Runes Dex. Traders pay a plattform fee to trade and generate yield for the liquidity provider.
